A lifetime of training

From Village Girl to Beauty Maven: My Journey Home

Picture this: It's 1987, and a wide-eyed girl from the quaint village of Ashby is packing her bags, ready to chase her dreams in the big city. That girl was me, and my destination? Canberra, where I'd soon be wielding scissors and styling hair at some of the city's most sought-after salons. Franco's of Canberra, Renaissance, Antix Hair – these names became my second home as I honed my craft.

But life, as it often does, had other plans. Motherhood called, and I answered, putting my career on pause to raise my children. When I returned to work in 2005, I found myself in sunny Yamba, this time as a barber. For 15 years, I shaped hairlines and trimmed beards, until an uninvited guest named Covid shook things up in 2020.

They say when one door closes, another opens. In my case, it was a door I'd always longed to peek through. 2022 saw me diving headfirst into the world of Beauty and Skin Therapy – a passion I'd held close to my heart for years. Armed with a fresh diploma and training in cutting-edge techniques, I emerged as an Advanced Facial Specialist, ready to work my magic with high-tech machines and powerful cosmeceuticals.

Now, here's the plot twist that brings a smile to my face: After all these years and adventures, I've found my way back to where it all began – Ashby. It's funny how life comes full circle, isn't it? As I stand in the Ashby Beauty Bar, I can't help but feel that every step of my journey has led me right back home. And let me tell you, I can't wait to share this little piece of beauty heaven with you all.

So, that's my story – from a village girl with big dreams to a skin transformation wizard, right back to where my heart belongs.

Who's ready for some pampering?

Imagine you are greeted by the most beautiful ‘bird’ who takes you under her wing. She nestles you in her comfy, warm and safe nest. Then she pampers you like you’re the only ‘chick’ in the world. You laugh, chat and relax together and the time flies by. Before you know it you’ve flown the coop but still feel enfolded in her wings when she checks in on you the next morning. Thank you Rhonda
