Skin Tag Removal in Ashby, near Maclean
Targeted Treatment for Suitable Skin Tags
Skin tags can catch on clothing, jewellery or simply become something you would prefer removed. Suitable skin tags can be treated using targeted plasma technology following assessment.
Ashby Beauty Bar provides assessment and targeted removal of suitable skin tags from our Ashby clinic, welcoming clients from Maclean, Yamba, Iluka and across the Clarence Valley.
Assessment Before Skin Tag Removal
Every lesion is assessed before treatment because several skin changes can resemble a skin tag.
Treatment proceeds only when the lesion appears suitable for plasma removal. Medical assessment or written clearance may be requested when a lesion is uncertain, pigmented, changing, irregular, bleeding or otherwise requires further investigation.
We will never remove a lesion simply because it is unwanted. Suitability and client safety come first.
How Plasma Skin Tag Treatment Works
The Plamere plasma device is used to target the selected skin tag while limiting treatment to the intended area.
Following treatment, the area may darken and form a small dry crust. This should be left to separate naturally as the skin heals.
Treatment time depends on the number, size and location of the skin tags being treated.
Common Treatment Areas
Suitable skin tags may be treated on areas including:
Neck
Underarms
Upper chest
Body
Other areas following assessment
Skin Tag Removal Questions
-
Only lesions that appear suitable for plasma treatment will be considered. Medical assessment or written clearance may be required when the lesion is uncertain, pigmented, changing, irregular, bleeding or has other features requiring investigation.
-
Around 5 to 10 small skin tags may often be addressed during a standard appointment. The number depends on their size, location, treatment response and the time required.
Additional appointment time may be recommended for larger numbers or more complex areas.
-
Sensation varies between clients and treatment areas. You may notice brief warmth, tingling or stinging during treatment.
Preparation and comfort options will be discussed before your appointment.
-
The treated area may appear darker and usually forms a small dry crust. Mild redness, tenderness or localised swelling may occur.
Allow the crust to separate naturally. Picking or rubbing the area may interfere with healing and increase the chance of visible marking.
-
Initial healing commonly takes around 7 to 14 days, although this varies with the size and location of the treated skin tag, individual healing and aftercare.
-
Keep the area clean and dry for the first 24 hours.
Avoid picking, scratching or rubbing the treated area. Swimming, spas, saunas and excessive sweating should be avoided for approximately 48 hours.
Do not apply active skincare to the area until it has healed. Once healed, use SPF 50+ when the area is exposed to sunlight.
-
Temporary redness or colour change may occur as the area heals. Pigment change, prolonged marking or scarring are possible risks with any treatment that disrupts the skin.
Your individual risk, treatment area and aftercare will be discussed during consultation.
-
The treated lesion is removed through the healing process, although individual outcomes vary. New skin tags may develop in the same general area over time.
-
A clear photograph can help with preliminary appointment planning, particularly when several skin tags are present. Final suitability is confirmed through assessment before treatment begins.
-
Topical numbing cream may be used to support comfort during treatment.
Ashby Beauty Bar does not supply or apply topical anaesthetic. Clients choosing to use it must purchase their own Australian-registered product from a pharmacy and follow the product label and pharmacist’s instructions.
For commonly available products used on intact skin, application is generally required at least one hour before treatment. Bring the original tube and packaging to your appointment so the product and application time can be confirmed.
Apply only to the agreed treatment area and intact skin. Do not apply near the eyes, to broken or irritated skin, or over a large area unless advised by a doctor or pharmacist.
Please tell us about allergies to local anaesthetics, relevant medical conditions, pregnancy, breastfeeding and current medications. If irritation or another reaction occurs, remove the product and seek advice from a pharmacist or doctor.
-
Plasma skin tag treatment may be unsuitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, for clients with a pacemaker or implanted electronic device, or when the treatment area has active infection, inflammation, sunburn, an open wound or impaired healing.
Medical clearance or further assessment may be required for diabetes, circulation concerns, immune suppression, autoimmune conditions, epilepsy, bleeding disorders, anticoagulant medication, recent isotretinoin use, current cancer treatment or a history of problematic scarring or pigmentation.
Suspicious, changing, irregular, pigmented or bleeding lesions will not be treated without appropriate medical assessment and written clearance.
Please disclose all medical conditions, medications and recent skin procedures before treatment. Suitability is confirmed individually.
Planning Your Skin Tag Appointment
A standard appointment allows time for assessment and treatment of approximately 5 to 10 suitable small skin tags.
The number treated will depend on their size, location and the time required. Additional 15-minute treatment blocks can be arranged when several skin tags are present.
Unsure Whether Yours Are Suitable?
Send a clear photograph showing the treatment area and approximate number of skin tags. This helps with appointment planning, although final suitability is confirmed in person before treatment.
